OTF 0206 (2 of 11)Rod Trudel
Pro Staff /Fly Fishing Guide/Owner

Rod Trudel started to fly fish at the age of twelve years of age and by the age of 16 he was fishing on the St. Mary’s river in Sault Ste. Marie.  Rod’s Passion and love for fly fishing are second to none as well as his customer service.  Rod was fortunate enough to work on Great Bear Lake for Plummer’s Arctic Lodges where he was able to hone his skills in which are needed to become a great guide in this very competitive industry.  Rod serves as Pro Staff for Simms as well as Air Flo Lines.  When starting this company he knew he would have to work hard in order to gain respect from the fellow anglers.  There is one thing Rod believes and that is competition forces his guides and himself to work hard and provide the best customer service possible for his clients.  That is why you will see Rod on the river on his day off, he will be the last guide off the water, he tries to hit every seam possible as well as every pocket on the river.  In doing so as many times as he sees necessary he feels he provides the best opportunity for his clients to catch fish.  Sure he may be exhausted at the end of every day but the one thing you will always get from him is 100%.

Pro Staff/Fly Fishing Guide

Casting a 4 weight single hand for brookies on a dry fly or spey casting theBIGstick for Steelhead or Salmon, it doesn’t matter to me. I love it all.  I feel as if I have been chasing fish on a fly for decades as I have logged some serious time on the water. There’s not many days that go by without me spending at least a few hours on the water. The thrill of the chase and the anticipation of a fish smashing my fly is what keeps me coming back for more day after day. I also love sharing my passion and love of fishing with others. Let me help you turn your dreams into reality when it comes to fly fishing the St Mary’s River and Lake Superior tributaries. Tight Lines Everyone!!!
